The National Anti-Scam Centre is a virtual centre that sits within the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

The National Anti-Scam Centre is guided by an advisory board with representatives drawn from peak bodies representing the finance, digital platforms and telecommunications sectors as well as consumer advocates, victim support services and others with relevant expertise.

The ACCC has final responsibility for decisions relating to the work of the National Anti-Scam Centre.

Advisory board 

    The ACCC Deputy Chair, Consumer is the chair of the advisory board.

    The Minister responsible for the National Anti-Scam Centre, or their representative, attends advisory board meetings.

    There are three working groups:

    • Data Integration and Technology 
    • Emerging Trends and Responses 
    • Communications and Awareness

    The advisory board has up to 12 members, with up to 6 representatives from relevant industry sectors, peak bodies and industry associations. It also has representatives from consumer advocacy, victim support services and others with relevant expertise.
