We’re educating and protecting the community through timely scam information via our Scamwatch services and outreach activities.

This includes:

  • publishing quick and consistent scam warnings through social media, and scam alerts through our Scamwatch website and email notifications
  • sharing information on how to spot and stay protected from scams
  • raising awareness of the most harmful scams
  • organising anti-scam activities, like Scams Awareness Week
  • improving our connections with vulnerable community groups
  • improving our resources for people supporting a vulnerable friend or family member
  • working with partners across different channels to reach more people.

We work with support services to help people harmed by scams get the care they need to recover.

Making scam reporting easier

We’re making it easier to report scams and get help where it’s needed by:

  • building new tools and better systems to report scams
  • improving the ability to report scams in different ways
  • connecting reporting systems to allow consumers to report in one place.
